Everyone knows what happened? I trust that you will know soon, the message will spread like fire. For the benefit of those who do not know what happened, I shall do a recount of it. ( I dont want to) I did not watch any of the C div boys' competition and I missed the A div girls' one too. All I know is, both of them won and got into the finals. I watched the A div guys' competition. Semi-finals. They lost, but they lost with dignity. They put up a good fight, and the HCI had a struggle. I have a few things to say: 1. The referee was not very nice. He gave the HCI two ippons which I feel ought to be Wasari instead. One is Lincoln's bout and one is Tingyong's bout. The throw was good but VERY OBVIOUSLY both didnt fall totally on their back. You may think that I said that because we lost and I am a sore loser. No i m not being sore loser. It is true, thay gave points to our benefit too but that was only a little tiny error. Like they gave Yuko when some times it should have been Koka but that doesnt make as big a difference as a Ippon to Wasari, cos Ippon means the game ends! this is totally frustrating. The referee, though none of our business since it s not our bout, was slow in groundwork too. The guy was holding his opponent down for a few seconds (like say 3 or 4?) before the referee realised it was a holding. Maybe he was checking to make sure it was a holding but isnt 3-4 secs a little TOO SLOW? haiz... I dont know what to say 2. Although they lost, and I think some of them didnt play to the best of their ability, I still think it was a good game. A game well played. I admire their spirit. As a chinese saying goes, "Onstage you perform for a minute, you toil for 10 years offstage". The three minute is short, but it determines your fate. 3. This competition made me wonder. Does hardwork really pay off? I worked hard but I fail. They fought hard but they lost. Is it worth it to fight so much? All's well if it turn's out well but what if we fail? That would be sorrow beyond sorrow right? yes. But I guess we fight because we never know whether we can do it or not, till we fight. 4.Sorry guys, bad luck this year. may you beat them next year.
